7 Factors affecting Search Engine ranking of u

Search Engine Rankings
Search Engine Rankings are very important to bloggers. The main source of traffic for a website has always been through the search engines and they are the decisive factor to the failure and success of your blog. Most popular websites and blogs on the internet enjoy very good search engine ranks. This is why it is important to be aware on what really affects your search engine ranking. To be really frank, Google has continued to be as secretive as possible about its algorithm while deciding the search engine ranking of a site.
But we have continually gained an insight into what are a few parameters that matter to Google while it ranks the sites in its search engine results.
This is why we say- Knowledge is power.
So I am going to list out the factors which affect your website search engine rankings.

1. External Links

The number of sites linking to you is the major factor of your search engine rankings. But my advice on this point would be that try to go for high-quality links rather than focusing on the quantity of links you get. If you are getting two to three links from PR6 and PR7 blogs it is much more valuable than a hundred links from PR1 and PR2 blogs. So always focus on getting your blog links from quality sites. Another important thing to remember while generating external links is that you need to be careful not get linked from link farms or bad neighbourhoods as this will immediately get you banned in the search engine results.

2. Domain Age

Google loves aged-domains that have been in use for years. Somehow Google begins to trust the site link a lot more and adds a lot of value to your domain age. Also, aged domains generally have back links from a lot of other aged domains. This helps you to gain a lot of authority in the eyes of search engines. Of course, just ensure that your aged domain was never in the black list of Google or such sort. It is quite commonly observed those sites which have been around for a few years rank higher in search engine results.

3. Frequency of Posting

The frequency at which you deliver new posts on your new blog matters a lot. Google loves new and fresh quality content to chew on. Google will give you a lot of authority if your blog is updated regularly. However, this will only matter if your content is unique and generally ineffective if you’re posting only a few words of nonsensical verbs. Try and give your best to all articles and schedule them to be automatically posted. Scheduling posts is a great way to ensure that your posting frequency is consistent.

4. Content Is King

The content continues to be the king as far as search engine ranking is concerned. Without quality content no amount of link building will help you get a good search engine ranking. However, you will continue to get good traffic from search engines if you have a huge archive of quality content that is original. There is nothing more valuable than having a lot of solid content on your blog to improve your search engine rankings. Having quality original content can get you a lot of traffic for long tail keyword searches – these are less popular keywords but will allow you to have a higher search engine ranking due to less competition.

5. Bounce Rate

A high bounce rate will also affect your search engine rankings. If you are confused about Bounce rate, well, according to Google, Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. It means how many people exit your site after just visiting their landing page without looking at other contents. You can check your blog’s bounce rate in Google Analytics and take appropriate measures to tackle them. If your blog has a high bounce rate, then there is no need to panic there are plenty of ways to reduce the bounce rate of a website.

6. Broken Links

They are another turn-off for search engines. You must ensure that your site has no broken links.

7. Page Load Time

This is the latest parameter which Google has added to decide the search engine result placement of a website or blog. Although it will not cause too major a shift in your search engine positions, still it is important that you keep your site’s loading time very low. It is easy to increase the load speed of your site with a few simple tweaks. A low page load time will also ensure that your readers don’t get impatient or frustrated while browsing through the pages.

So these are the parameters we know affect our search engine rankings. There are a lot more which we are not aware of.
